Welcome to the Bristol and District branch of Parkinson's UK
Parkinson's UK also depend on fundraising - could you get involved in a fundraising event?
Nailsea Rotary Club will be holding their 14th annual charity walk/run on the 15th June. They offer a 5km, 10km or 20km route through Nailsea and the surrounding countryside. The walk can be done on the day, or can be undertaken 'virtually' any time up to the end of July.
Wouldn't it be lovely if we could get a group of us together to raise money for the branch? (Nic, branch secretary) will be taking part and would love to have some others join her!
She is considering the 20k route, but more realistically will be doing the 10k route. Maybe we could have a 5km team and a 10km team....?!
The 5km course is accessible to all, whereas the 10k and 20k courses are more 'off road'. More details can be found using the details on the flyer.
If you would like to raise money for the Bristol branch of PUK, we have a justgiving page set up which you could get your supporters to donate to via the following link:
If you do sign up, and are walking on the 15th june, please let Nic know (pukbristolsecretary@gmail.com) so that she can keep an eye out for you on the day. If you are not able to take part but would like to sponsor Nic, please feel free to use the justgiving link.
Hope to see some of you in Nailsea!
A JustGiving page is set up for the Bristol branch of Parkinsons UK.
Any donations raised via this page will go directly to the Bristol branch.
If you know anyone who is fundraising, or would like to donate to the branch, please think about directing them to this JustGiving page. Click on the link below -
All money raise goes to helping members.
Organise your own walk.
When you organise your own walk, you're still walking to fund our vital work and research.
Why not:
Stroll 2 miles for the 2 people diagnosed with Parkinson's every hour?
Trek 15.3 miles for the 153,000 people living with Parkinson's in the UK?
Hike 40 miles to symbolise over 40 symptoms of Parkinson's?
You choose your route, how far, when and who with. You can even split a long walk into shorter sections over a number of days. Whatever works for you.
