Welcome to the Bristol and District branch of Parkinson's UK
Important notice -
Unfortunately due to affordability the meeting on the 11th April will be the last meeting to be held at St Monica's for the foreseeable future.
The meeting on 2nd May (and all future meetings) will be at our new venue, The Vassall Centre, Gill Avenue, Fishponds, Bristol BS16 2QQ. Some of you may remember this venue as it has been previously used by PUK Bristol.
Sadly this change of venue may affect some people's ability to attend the meetings but the change is unavoidable as our funds are limited and this change has been forced upon us. We will endeavour to provide a video link to all meetings.
We look forward to seeing you at St Monica's on the 11th April for our last meeting in this venue and at the new venue thereafter.
Best wishes

PROPOSAL FOR A BRISTOL-BASED PRODUODOPA SUPPORT GROUP
This is a message from Prof Denton - if you are interested please email him or Pat Hinton directly on r.denton@bristol.ac.uk or pathine16@gmail.com
"We have in mind to set up an informal group of those who use the Produodopa (PDD) Pump, together with our carers and clinicians. There is much we could learn by sharing experiences of this novel treatment and, in this way, provide some further support for each other.
We suggest a monthly, day-time meeting, if possible at the Bristol Brain Centre with video link by Teams or Zoom for those who find it difficult to attend in person. Meetings may have a focus on a topic of general concern but there would be ample opportunity and time to raise any general issue or specific problem related to the use of the PDD Pump.
If you, as a patient on thePDD Pump or as a carer of a PDD Pump user, are keen to see a Produodopa pump support group set up, please contact us by email, as soon as possible. We need to know the level of enthusiasm for the Support Group and welcome suggestions on how the group should be organized.
Dick Denton (r.denton@bristol.ac.uk) Dick has 10 months experience of the PDD pump - he was one of the first individuals in SW England to be fitted with the pump.
Mrs Pat Hine (pathine16@gmail.com). Pat has four months experience of the PDD pump."
